We recognize the inherent challenges of maintaining sobriety as a young adult. 50% of our clients identify with a history of substance use and it is not uncommon that our members have been through past treatment and struggled to maintain sobriety.
Lasting recovery from substance use begins with learning how to manage triggers while having an established peer-based community to rely on for support. Our goal in recovery is to help our clients build and maintain foundational skills so that they can successfully confront daily triggers without relapsing.
Types of Substance Use Support At FSL
Individualised Coaching & Therapy
Through focused Individualised therapy, we work on key skills including relapse prevention, social skills, distress tolerance and mindfulness to assist our clients as they navigate life outside of treatment.
Community Resources
Participating in community groups like AA and going through the 12 step program helps our clients build a supportive, peer-based network who can provide an emotional connection to the recovery process and inspire continuity and commitment. Establishing and maintaining this network is fundamental to successful long-term recovery.
How Do We Approach Substance Use Treatment?
Our abstinence-based approach focuses on two critical areas – the development of skills necessary to maintain sobriety and establishing a network of peers who are in recovery. By helping clients successfully navigate situational triggers with new tools including life skills and the emotional support of The FSL, our goal is to see clients live their lives fully in a manner that reflects ‘normality’ without compromising their sobriety.
